Liverpool Water Treatment Plant Kiosk Substation

Addelec undertook a significant upgrade at the Liverpool Sydney Water treatment plant by replacing the outdated transformer with a new kiosk substation. This project was essential for enhancing the operational capabilities and efficiency of the water treatment facility.

Challenge

The main challenge faced in this project was the removal of the old transformer and its replacement with a more modern, efficient kiosk substation. The project required careful planning and execution to minimise disruption to the plant’s daily operations, ensuring continuous water treatment during the upgrade.

Solution

The Addelec team managed the entire project, from the initial sourcing and supply of the new transformer to the installation and final testing. The installation process included preparing a new concrete pad, manufacturing a custom steel frame, and handling both high voltage (HV) and low voltage (LV) cabling. Our comprehensive approach ensured that all components were optimally designed and integrated within the existing infrastructure.

Impact

The installation of the new kiosk substation significantly improved the reliability and efficiency of the Liverpool Sydney Water treatment plant. The modernised infrastructure supports enhanced performance and energy efficiency, reducing operational costs and environmental impact. With the successful completion of this project, the water treatment plant is now better equipped to serve the community with increased capacity and reliability.
